What was Jim Crow Laws ?:
During the end of reconstruction era in the United States, many laws were created that required racial segregation. Such laws prevented white from sharing the same schools, restrooms, transportation, even water fountains as African Americans. Any "colored" person who went against these laws were penalized immediately. An example of one of these laws are "Every employer of white or negro males shall provide for such white or negro males reasonably accessible and separate toilet facilities". This law was passed in the state of Alabama.
